I have been asked more than once where the name of the concept of making home decor from bicycle parts and also the website comes from. It is a quite simple answer with a turn in the story. And finally became my ideology.

 

Designing a commuter bike was the first project. I intended to call O2 bike or something like that to show that I am as green as Ruby Rhod. I found this reason boring and dropped. The urban utility bike designed to fold into a compact form, for easier storage – underneath my desk. Means the bike is stored in the office from 9 A.M. till 5 P.M. and in use before and after.

My employer was a French company that time and was not follow the eight hours labour, eight hours recreation, eight hours rest model of timing. When left my desk at 6 P.M. to catch the train home I was asked if I worked half shift that day. This is the reason that the message was not about the bike anymore: the working hours should be 9 to 5 in decent places.

There are different colleagues with different work schedules and rhythm of life of course. I still prepare presentations in the middle of the night but there is no drama when I stand up earlier because it is my turn picking up the kids.
